Cannabis CBD Infused Oil Recipe
- 7-10 grams of dried buds
- 1 ½ cup of coconut oil
- 1/3 cup of olive oil (Optional)
- 1 baking sheet
- 1 sauce pan/ double broiler/ Excalibur dehydrator
- 1 jar
- Fine mesh sieve
- A few drops of essential oils of your choice
The first step is to preheat your oven to 240 degrees and spread your dried cannabis buds on the baking sheet. Bake your buds for 30-40 minutes in order to decarboxylate them. Decarbing your cannabis is recommended as it makes more of the CBD oil for pain available to your body.
Place your coconut and olive oil in a sauce pan over low heat and continue stirring. Then, remove the decarboxylated cannabis from the oven and mix with the coconut oil for 20-25 minutes. After thoroughly mixing the cannabis buds with the oil, transfer the mixture in a jar and cover it with a lid to infuse it. Then, set it aside for six weeks.
Always ensure to keep the heat very low so as to not to burn the THC or scorch the cannabis and decrease its potency. This is especially important if you are using olive oil since it has a lower smoke point. You can also add other essential oils like peppermint, lavender, and tea tree oils. Additionally, it is recommendable to use an Excalibur Dehydrator or double broiler to help you maintain the right temperature when heating.
When ready to use the CBD oil, use a fine mesh to sieve out the buds. After straining the buds, you will end up with highly fragrant CBD-rich oil. The decarbed buds can be used again to make a rich CBD infused oil for the second time.
This homemade recipe is used for making CBD infused oil that is popular for its pain relieving properties. Hence, it can be used as a topical pain relieving oil and can also be turned into CBD salve.
