I started sewing in the third grade. I have been sewing for over 50 years. My daughter and granddaughters still kid me about being a fashion designer when I criticize their choice of attire. I am ancient in their eyes. Most of my designs are from when I sewed for my daughter 30 years ago. That makes me and my designs VINTAGE!
Over the years, I have studied many different and correct sewing techniques. I started out with basic sewing for 4H club competition and later learned couture sewing techniques for state contests. I started college with sewing and design contest scholarships, majoring in fashion design but later switched to business. When my daughter was little, I went to sewing school and learned French hand and machine sewing techniques and smocking. My patterns will show how to accomplish many of these techniques. The patterns will give you the choices of just basic sewing on a plain sewing machine, options for finer sewing techniques and tips on sewing with a serger. All of my patterns are designed and written with the beginner seamstress in mind.
