This wool quilt makes a beautiful wall hanging. It's made of 100% hand dyed wool and all the designs are appliqued and sewn with a contrasting blanket stitch. My first wool quilt started with just one quilt square. Having been a rug hooker in the past, I had a quantity of hand dyed wool that I loved but I wanted to use the wool in a different way. I had recently taken a quilt class and wanted to get more involved in quilt making so the two just went together. I enjoyed working on that first square so much that I kept adding to it until I had completed a whole quilt. I love the impact of color against black and the richness of wool seems to make the colors that much more vibrant. I now switch between cotton and wool quilts because I can't choose between the two, they both seem to fill different creative needs.
