This is one beautiful quilt. The design really reads as a diagonal line on the rectangle shape, which is always pleasing to the eye. Since Laura and I both live near the beach, we often are inspired by the shore, and we both grew up playing in the tidelands in and around the Seattle area. And both of our families also enjoyed the beach, searching for crabs under rocks, getting sprayed by clams and finding beautiful treasures. This quilt has just enough play to remind you of the tidelands, with larger squares, diagonal shapes, and a beautiful simplicity that is inspired by all the scenery that surrounds us. The easy full color directions will have you finishing this quilt in no time and the size is big enough to wrap around a tall teenager, or comfort a little toddler who has fallen asleep in the middle of the couch. You will love this quilt; count on making it more than once!
Laura and Lynnette are next-door neighbors, dear friends, and passionate quilters. They started Beach Garden Quilts in 2004, and business meetings often take place in one of the old family cabins fondly known as the studio (Scrabble Letters spell out "Studio" on the old Dutch door). Most of the time they meet in the morning in their p.j.s! Shhh - don’t tell corporate America!
They are known for their well-written patterns, graceful designs, and wonderful floor mat patterns. Their motto is simple: "At Beach Garden Quilts we partner with the best people in the business to create innovative quilting projects we know our customers will enjoy!" They also have fabric design in their future so stay tuned for fabulous floras and faunas coming your way in 2013!
