This pattern is a bit of a challenge to piece, but makes a lovely block. The last picture is my pieced sample - it came out really well! This is a free pattern to make the block, enjoy it and let me know what you think - full size templates are included with the pattern and basic piecing instructions. You will need some practice with curved seams, but the two curves in this block are fairly easy to work with. There is one inset seam, but the rest is straight piecing and easy to do.
I have been quilting for 25 years, and thoughout all these years one of my favorite things has been to design my own projects. I have been challenged during the last few years to try my hand at actually writing these ideas up and sharing them with others - so here I am! It's always a challenge to learn new skills, and pattern writing is a tricky one as people all learn in different ways! I try to include plenty of illustrations in my patterns as well as clear written instructions. I prefer rotary cutting, but do include templates as necessary. EQ7 is a wonderful help for drafting blocks and making templates, I couldn't do what I do without this!
