This miniature or wall size quilt is much easier than it looks. It starts out with 1 1/2" or 3" fabric strips and is pieced in a bargello style. The squares finish at 3/8" or 1" but you could easily make them other sizes by adjusting the beginning strip width. An Ultimate Seam Guide makes this piecing technique possible. Choose 3 fabrics from light to dark, 3 accent fabrics, and a border.
Annis Clapp has had a passion for sewing since she was a child, and has been designing and making quilts and related items since the mid '70s. While making her son's wedding quilt in 1998-99 she became interested in quick piecing techniques. The discovery of rag quilting in 2001 led to 3 quilt books published by Leisure Arts. She has had quilts featured in McCall's Quick Quilts and Ricky Tims' Kool Kaleidoscope Quilts. Her desire for speed and accuracy in her piecing skills led to the development of the Ultimate Seam Guide in 2003 which is now available through C & T Publishing.
