My daughter has been drawing cat faces all over the place. It's her new favorite doodle. She drew one recently in chalk on a slate stone in our yard and I loved the effect. So that's what I was going for with this simple line drawing. I stitched it in a pale (chalky) color on a dark background and with a slightly thicker thread than I usually use. This is a great pattern for beginners. You only need one stitch and there's nothing too fussy or detailed about it. It would be cute on a tote bag or T-shirt - or a towel. It also fits perfectly into a 7" hoop. All Shiny Happy World patterns are designed especially for beginners. They include full-sized patterns for tracing, reversed patterns for use with iron-on transfer pens, and complete color and stitch guides. Patterns also include links to free video tutorials teaching you every skill and stitch you'll need to complete the project.
My name is Wendi Gratz. I hope you see something here that makes you smile! I spent over twenty years working in the children's book industry and the experience has left its mark on me - all my favorite artists are children's book illustrators, I believe people are basically good, and I can't abide beige.
All of my patterns include links to free online videos that will teach you every technique you need to know to complete the project. Happy stitching!
