Quilts, Quilts, and More Quilts!
My shop, Little Wheeler Quilts, is named after my 10 yr. old grandson Alex, who is a little wheeler, physically disabled and is in a wheelchair. He is my inspiration!
I fell in love with fabric many years ago and it eventually led me to quilting. I didn't grow up around quilts, but the first time I saw one in a magazine, I just knew I had to make one.
I have since gotten my AA in Fashion Design and an Adult Ed Teaching Credential in Textiles. I love reading about quilt history and I am currently studying to be a quilt appraiser. I also finish old quilt tops in my Hand Quilting service which is like therapy for me. The oldest quilt top I have finished was from 1850...awesome!
I absolutely love the Modern Quilt Movement that's going on today. It makes me feel like I'm a long lost hippie that's found her way home! So many people have asked me for my quilt patterns, which I didn't have, so I decided to start Little Wheeler's and write them all down! All of my patterns are clear, easy to read, and easy to understand. Most of them are for beginners, many with just squares and rectangles. Please enjoy checking out my patterns and thanks for visiting!
