Learn to make your own tote bags. No more plastic grocery bags. This is an easy, versatile and very useful pattern. These totes make great Christmas gifts for just about anyone and the pattern can be easily changed to alter the shape & size of the final tote. I've written this pattern with the beginning sewer in mind. The instructions include lots of photos and tips to help you along the way. You'll also learn how to sew French Seams, giving your tote a very clean and finished look on the inside. You won't have to worry about fraying when you throw this tote in the wash, all raw edges will be enclosed. As shown, the tote measures 14.5" wide, tapering down to an 11 x 4" boxed base. Sits 14.5" tall with two handles. I've included instructions for an interior pocket that's attached under the hem. At the end of the pattern there are instructions for 3 additional styles of pockets and an option for a contrasting band. Pattern includes step by step instructions with photos & sewing tips, and cutting diagram. This pattern is easy, but some sewing experience would be helpful. **For personal, and limited commercial use only. Feel free to use this pattern to make items to sell at craft fairs and local events, but please refrain from selling items made from this pattern online.

I've been sewing as long as I can remember so it was only fitting that I took the plunge and started my own business. I launched my website,, in November of 2006 and my first Etsy shop December, 2006.

I'm a California girl who moved to the UK for a man, moved to San Francisco with the same man, married the man and now live happily with that man and our two kitties near Seattle. We had our one and only daughter in October 2010.
