Irina Ivanova

Hi everyone! I'm Irina Ivanova from the Russian city which is on the Volga river. I'm here to share my inspiration and my ideas of making toys ( plushies and cloth for now, but who knows maybe I'll learn other techniques soon). I started creating and making toys not long ago, but I've always wanted to. I was raised by my grandma and great-grandma. They were really skilled! They could sew, knit, crochet, embroider and many more. We were living in a small village and didn't have much money to buy toys for me, I had only two plastic dolls and a stuffed dog and a bear but my great-grandmother, who was 80 at that time often made cloth dolls for me. They were not painted and had no faces but I adored them. One day they were princesses, another day - poor girls... new story each day. Unfortunately I was a lazy child and only learnt how to crochet a little. When I was 15 I moved to a big city and many years passed when I took a crochet hook and yarn and started to teach myself how to make clothes. Then one day someone asked me if I could crochet a toy. That's how my creating toys started. My grannies have already gone and I'm here, in a big city, making toys and thinking about them. If you see me from heavens, my lovely ladies, thank you for inspiration!
