I saw a picture of a vintage doll on eBay and loved the simplicity of her so I decided to design a doll that is very similar. The simple embroidered features make this an easy doll for anyone who prefers to not paint faces. Her hands have individual fingers, but in an effort to make the doll easy for a beginning dollmaker, the pattern also includes a mitt-type hand that can be used instead. The face template that is included in my pattern can also be used to paint the facial features. However, painting instructions are not included with this pattern. Her body and feet get their shaping by the use of several darts. She is really a lovely doll when finished and well worth the extra effort. She is 18 inches from head to bottom of her shoes and will make a lovable friend for a child, but would be equally as nice to decorate a small corner of your home. I used snaps to close the back of her dress; however, you could use Velcro for a smaller child. Pattern includes detailed instructions, full size pattern pieces to include her dress and pantaloons, and full-color cover so you can clearly see the finished project. Her shoes are painted. PLEASE NOTE: Because of size, some of the pattern pieces will need to be taped together before cutting your fabric.Your pattern download includes pdf files printed on 8.5x11 inch paper:This pattern is an original design of Cathy Lawrence of Cloth Dolls by Stitch 'N Stuff. Cloth Dolls by Stitch 'N Stuff

I  have designed cloth dolls, doll patterns and general sewing patterns since 1992 and I have maintained a website (snsdolls.com) where I sell my dolls and patterns since 1995. I have always liked sewing and creating. Dolls are my passion; however, I recently tried my hand at a penny rug type design just for fun and instantly fell in love with the hand-sewing technique. I have already designed two (2) patterns using the buttonhole stitch and many more are on the drawing board. I take pride in using extra care in sewing my items. Most doll clothing is removable; doll dresses are lined and any seams that show are serged. My folk art doll clothes are finished with vintage buttons to complement their outfit. My doll "Liberty" was selected to be photographed for the 2003 Early American Life magazine's "Directory of Traditional American Crafts". My patterns are clearly written, but if you have any problems with any step along the way, feel free to email me. I want your time sewing my patterns to be enjoyable; I will do everything in my power to help you complete your project. Please feel free to email at cathy@snsdolls.com.
