Recently while cleaning my great aunt’s house, I found a doll kit from the 1920s that was partly finished. Many pieces were missing as were the directions for assembly, but the embroidery directions were still with the kit. Such an innocent face, I knew that I had to try to design what I thought the "missing" pieces might have been like and put it together as a pattern for others to enjoy. This "sweetie" has directions and pattern pieces for the dress and bloomers just as you see in her picture. If you make the clothes removable you can create a whole wardrobe of dresses and bloomers! What a wonderful child’s "friend" and what an adorable addition to add charm to your sofa or chair. She just makes you want to smile! Emily Jean has a template for the embroidery; you will need to trace the embroidery details using a disappearing ink pen or any of the other methods for transferring embroidery that is available in most craft stores. Pattern includes detailed instructions, full size pattern pieces, and full-color cover so you can clearly see the finished project. The pattern is a pdf file that can be printed on 8.5" x 11" paper. Cloth Dolls by Stitch 'N Stuff

I  have designed cloth dolls, doll patterns and general sewing patterns since 1992 and I have maintained a website (snsdolls.com) where I sell my dolls and patterns since 1995. I have always liked sewing and creating. Dolls are my passion; however, I recently tried my hand at a penny rug type design just for fun and instantly fell in love with the hand-sewing technique. I have already designed two (2) patterns using the buttonhole stitch and many more are on the drawing board. I take pride in using extra care in sewing my items. Most doll clothing is removable; doll dresses are lined and any seams that show are serged. My folk art doll clothes are finished with vintage buttons to complement their outfit. My doll "Liberty" was selected to be photographed for the 2003 Early American Life magazine's "Directory of Traditional American Crafts". My patterns are clearly written, but if you have any problems with any step along the way, feel free to email me. I want your time sewing my patterns to be enjoyable; I will do everything in my power to help you complete your project. Please feel free to email at cathy@snsdolls.com.
